How to optimize Apache with WHM ?

Well it it seems that apache is using up all of my server. I just left a VPS last week for a dedicated server because of High server load. I thought the VPS was the problem but since being on the dedicated server it has gotten worse. When ever I ssh into my box my load is over 20.0!

I was told I need to optimize apache but not sure how to since I am running whm/cpanel, dont want to break anything.

    Please help!.

Just look how using free munin can help you investigate and fix your problem.

There are many unix commands to investigate and fix your problem within hours , or minutes.

I can only help with Unix variants - NO windows.

My WordPress site loads in UNDER a second on a 200 mhz VPS

Are you sure there isn't anything else at play here? Load should not jump anywhere near that amount just to SSH in the server. What is the server primarily used for?

I do not think he meant ssh causes a load of 20

He? meant when using ssh, he can see the overall load is 20.

ssh should probably increase load by 0.1 ( at most ) ... anyone that ever look at top while using ssh will see that.

Looks like you're banned so hopefully it's only temporary and you're following without logging in..
Are you running a CMS or PHP heavy site? i had almost the same issue with my Drupal site. I installed a PHP opcode cache/optimizer and it dropped CPU using by 40%-50%

Ok im back!. I ended up getting a new server and that took care of the problem. the other dedicated was too weak to handle my load

My old girlfriend used to be the same way :D

You should still look into a cache/PHP Optimizer - even though you have a stronger box, you would still want to make the best use of it.
