Just hard work....and doing it the right way...also not any black hat stuff...at least I will suggest that....because search engines are increasingly becoming very authentic about the processes they follow. Continue with your writing, post regularly, write proper headlines, deliver good content, get incoming links. These will make the trick.

What is important, for a particular popular keyword, Google or Yahoo or Bing will first check who deserves to be on the top. They will check your credentials, they will check if your site has done anything tricky before etc etc. The more you work regularly on your blog, the better chance you have over others in beating them.

For instant traffic you may submit your content in Digg. But dont over do it.

    Hi Krishb,

Can you please help me finding the answer for the questions like

    1) How much important does Meta Tags have from search engine point of view?

    2) What points should always be considered while creating the meta tags?

    3) Has Google started to ignore the importance of Meta Tags as i have seen many sites which do not have proper meta tags but still they rank high for some keywords then others?

    Thanks in Advance

This is very Hard process and also wrong way. Directly highly competition keyword time execution work. while this you cannot focus on your website traffic and other keyword, so used always law traffic keyword.

It is good that you are looking for help to get in with competitive keywords. Someone mentioned that it takes hard work. This is true. The other problem is that there is so much to learn about SEO.

I recommend that you commit to regular long-term study. There are simple common things that we can do, and then there is the rest. Bruce Clay's Search Engine Optimization For Dummy's is one place to start. It is a lot more than a book for dummies. It is about ten books in one.

    All is simple:
    1) optimise your site for keywords you want
    2) take many back links with keywords anchor
    3) Setup ads
    4) Earn millions
    5) take a rest for next 100 years
    ;)

There are only 2 things you need to hear.

Relevant content and lots of links.

With great content that the engines will eat up, and lots of high authority back links, you can compete for any keyword no matter how competitive it is.

But there is a whole lot more involved if you want to stay there. You might rank for a day or even a week but in a high competition market you won't last long if you don't work at it.

Backlinks with anchor text are the most important as liss pointed out. Very hard work to begin with especially when cash flow is a problem. Good luck!

if you want to target high page rank keywords then first thing is that you need to follow on page optimization very strongly. then you need to follow off page.

Do strong off page because 70% seo depends on off page optimization.

Pretty much everyone else summed it up- A lot of hard work. The main thing is to stay consistent-keep writing articles. You want to make sure you have a lot of back links, but if you build them too quickly, that can raise a red flag.
