How to open an Indian Bank Account from Outside India?

    Hello all Dp`ers!

    I am in Pak, but I am using a paypal account with an indian address, I know indian people can withdraw paypal funds to indian bank accounts, I am just wondering is it possible for me to open up an Indian bank account! I know there are tons of Indian brothers here on DP! :) Are there any banks that allow foreign people to open an account!

    Dont tell me to visit India to open an account! :D

    Well, I think they won't allow to open a bank account like the one people open in USA ! :)

    it's not possible.

    only resident Indians, NRI's, PIO's (People of Indian Origin) etc are allowed to open individual bank accounts in India.

    foreign nationals are allowed to open accounts in India only if they are residing in or visiting India.

    A lot indian banks are operating in others countries, are they allow to open an indian account from out side?

    You are not allowed to open INDIAN bank account unless you are Indian or you are studying in INDIA. However, we people from Nepal can open INDIAN bank account.

    its very easy. goto indian bank and apply for opening an account :)

    just make sure you are living in india with proof while opening the account ;)

    its not possible if u are not in india

    You can not open an account in Indian bank if you are not an Indian resident. And even if for one minute we think that its possible for you to open an account with Indian bank while sitting in Pakistan, but still how will you withdraw cash from bank? Still that account will be of no use to you.
