    Onpage is all about optimizing your site Title,meta description, keywords,H1 tag, alt tags etc.

    As well as you site must be W3 standered not any error in that or xml sitemap or rss feed etc...

    According to me Forum is the best way to learn SEO because in forum lots of people and experienced guys available so you can discuss your confusion and second thing is Google so follow both things..

    On-page SEO can do wonders for your rankings. I have had sites completely optimized rank for a keyword with absolutely no backlinks or offsite SEO! Of course this isn't always the case, but just an example of how powerful on-page SEO can be.
