How to not show your personal info. on whois?

    Hi guys, i have seen some websites that have cannot be seen information because whois is not permitted...

    how do you do that? i am gonna make personal/hobby site and i dont want my personal information(address,email,name etc.,) to be seen on those kind of whois websites

    You gotta get privacy protect with your domain/TLD. Some registrar now offer it for free but Godaddy requires you to pay for it. Once you get privacy protect, your whois details will be hidden by default.

    Almost all domain registrants provide free whois protection . Just tick that option when you are registering a new domain . Also you can enable privacy option from your domain control panel .

    man just register the domain without personal info, private registration is sometimes free sometimes not.

    Yep, its called privacy guard to protect your true id from people - the whois details people will see are just generic details made up by the registrar but wont protect from anything you do illegally as they would have disclose the true id details for that domain if law required it.

    As above poster states: Some domain registrars charge extra fee for this service and some like namecheap usually offer it free if you buy a domain name

    You can buy Domain Privacy from any of the registrar or buy it from some one who gives free domain privacy with a domain purchase.
