How to not be so dependent on reddit traffic?

Hi all! So I run a social skills website that has advice for improving your social skills. On an average day, I find about 20% of my traffic comes from Google, 10% comes from miscellaneous sources, and 70% comes from Reddit. On a non-average day (when I or someone else posts about my site to a prominent subreddit and it gets a lot of attention), my traffic spikes and 98% or more comes from Reddit.

I certainly don't mind getting all of this Reddit traffic, but Reddit by it's very nature is very unsustainable, since links that are posted to it are pushed down by newer submissions. So rather than spending time promoting myself on Reddit, I would love to be able to put up some links to my website on places where the links will be more enduring.

At this point, I'm more concerned about organic traffic than SEO friendly links. So I don't care about pagerank or dofollow as much as I do qualified visitors who will click my links and actually want to learn about social skills.

Reddit has been great for getting qualified visitors because I can post in subreddits dedicated to relevant interests (like social skills or making friends.) My dream would be to find another site like that where I could post to specific categories that relate to my social skills site, but where my links would be more lasting. However, I haven't found a lot of luck with this.

Does anyone have any advice for this? Are there other sites where I might submit my social skills site and have the link be more lasting?

Hi cookiemobsta, I can understand your want of a more, targeted organic searches. However, you still need a decent exposure which is being offered by these social sites. Speaking of directories with categories, Linkldn, Delicious, etc...
