How to move an ecommerce site from one host to another

    The thread title pretty much explains my question, how to move an ecommerce site from one host to another.

    We don't have problems with moving static sites, its very easy comparatively. Need help with understanding ecommerce ones.

    Well, e-commerce is practically the same as every other site except for a few key features. Do you have a dedicated IP? If you do, do you have an SSL certificate?

    Thank you HostingSpeak, he helped me offline in understanding things better. And to you fcolor, for sharing your advice.

    But I guess, sometimes talking to web hosting providers takes A LOT of time and overall it delays the procedures to some weeks sometimes. That is why I wanted to learn these things, once and for all.
