    Hi guys (gals?),

I have a soccer site that receives about 1300k uniques per day, adsense is
doing ok but not great, as the new season approaches i'm looking for ways
to make more $$ with the site.

Any ideas or tips on how to monetize my site?

    Thanks

    Hey,

You could try building a list from those daily visitors and then sell to them.

Have you thought about promoting a product on your site? I'm sure you could find something at CJ or CB.

    I hope this helps. :)

You can sell tickets. There are many affiliate programs that offer you a great opportunity to earn by selling tickets for soccer matches.

Hey dude, pop me a PM with your site :)

I'm running goalpost.tv and not getting anywhere near the numbers you are getting.

Depending on the kind of site you are running , I think adsense will earn you less.

I'm a member of affiliate programs for almost everything related to soccer and use an ad server to geo target and only show relevant ads.

You can show banners for soccer kit, games, betting, online matches, eBay stuff and tons more :)

Ive tried adsense and end up seeing forex ads so I feel like I have no control.

Anyway , pop me a PM

    Cheers!

Selling tickets is a good idea, you can also add ebay listings, that will include a lot of related stuff or try selling a book like "Play soccer like a PRO".

sell ads directly to sports people (perhaps gambling could be considered too?)

    Another way:
Put the service on the site - Subscribe to newsletter, gather mails of funs and send them newsletter every week + you can include some sponsor offers about tickets or service or anything...that could bring some $$ i think :)

I think a good option to you is to sell links on your site to other soccer site owners. That is assuming, of course, that your site has decent PR and would be an attractive place for people to link to their site.

    Be an affiliate for

    1.) Live Football Sites.
2.) Sites that sell shirts- Kitbag, Subside Sports, Worldsoccershop or Onionbag are reputed online retailers.
    3.) Sell gambling links privately.

I'd say pay per leads (yeah, part of 'CPA') would be a great idea. It can work better and have higher conversions than sale-based programs so it's a good start. Take care of the positioning of your ads and consider the visitors 'mood' when reading your page. It's always better to build an email list so that you can reach them via email, conversions will be less if you link directly to the CPA offer from your pages.

    Good Luck! :)
