How to Monetize Google Image Search Traffic

    Hey DPers,

I have a wordpress blog that gets a lot of traffic from Google and MSN image search, and I'm wondering if I could monetize this traffic using a script that will automatically add an excerpt of the post the image is contained within and an adsense ad when people go the image url.

Just to be clear. I'd like it so that if some visits www.mysite.com/images/myimage.jpg they would see the image with an excerpt from the post the image is in and an adsense ad.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

I think, it can't be added an adsense ad in the image url, google and msn searches results went directly to the image url and in a url that contains the image extension you can't add anymore text or ads on the image url page...

well, if you use some php code, you could actually divert traffic from google images that are not bots to pages you wish them to land on and if its google and other bots, display the images. of course you will somehow need to also tell the script that if the images is being called from your local page, display the proper image... mmm .. i m not 100% sure if this method will work... but its just off my head.. :)

    good luck :)

php redirect code may be the best way to drive the traffic to pages with ads. however, you may want to check the tos or ask adsense if this is a violoation. i know adwords disapproves campaigns with redirects so they may do the same with adsense.

fwiw... it's been awhile, but the last time that i checked, you can't see adsense ads in image search results, because google and yahoo do not allow javascript to run on the framed pages.

i know that's not what you are asking, and in fact it's kinda off-topic, but getting the ad seen has always been my top priority.

I had seen a website where the link is like www...../myimage.jpg but the page contained both the image and texts written all over. It was a free image upload website. :)

just leave it like that.. if you do redirection than there will be chances your Google Adsense will be disabled.. so be natural.. suggest Google to do some thing for Google Image probably they might come with something Monetize so you don't need to do any redirection..
