I have an article directory site (www.everydayarticles.com) which is fairly popular. It has 23,000 + registers members and gets around 800+ articles submission a day with total 240,000 plus articles. It also has Alexa ranking of 22,205. But I am having hard time monetize this. I tried AdSence with no success. How do you monetize an article site? What are the other option do I have? This site is a 5 years old and DMOZ listed. How much I can expect if I want to sell?
I would look into Text Link Ads. I think the URL is text-link-ads.com and I have had some success with them with far less content. You need to have a PR2+ and be well established, but it sounds like you would meet the criteria based on your stats.
Kontera is another text link ads site that you can earn from. I plan to use this one in my new article directory (6articles.com) when it gets enough views.
Being a publisher that has used text-link-ads.com in the past, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. I had started to have real success with unique visitors, page views, etc. due to increased number of authors on my site and they decided I was adding too many articles too fast. Then accused me of scraping content. The latter statement is completely unvalidated and untrue. The short answer is that you have no "checks and balances" with them and stand little chance of financial success... in my humble opinion. BTW, I have several sites working with similar services and this was a first experience of this type after years online.
