How to monetize a site about my project

There was an old project I was working on whereby I designed a digital calculator made of only string and weights. It's one of those things I do that makes you ask "who has time to figure out things like this," and even so, it's impressive enough to talk about.

I was thinking about creating a webpage detailing the project. Being a sensible publisher, I know serving contextual ads wouldn't be a great way to monetize the traffic (wouldn't it be cool if AdSense publishers could opt out of CPC for exclusive CPM instead? sorry, getting side-tracked). CPA couldn't work either unless I go my 'default' route and sell the one type of product that could perform at all on any website. Donations, I don't believe would work for this because the project wouldn't really help too many people get much besides a laugh and some insight into boolean logic gates. Plus, it takes away from the Wacko Factor of the project.

The best idea I can think of, yet, is to make an article instead and use it to try to direct some traffic (after reviewing yfs1's helpful article on article submission). Any thoughts or ideas?

Dunno if I posted this thread in the right place...

Sounds like wonderful Digg material to me. Get some pictures or a video up (YouTube?) and get a few friends to start it off. With a link to another project (related or not.. doesn't really matter) at the top and bottom of the page, you'll get plenty of clickthroughs.
