How to Monetize a blog about a book?

My blog is about a fantasy book that has yet to be released. I am getting a bunch of traffic, but I can't monetize it at all. With adsense I got a ctr of less than .1% I got a list of 2000, but they don't convert well.

    Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

I was going to suggest building a list but looks like that isn't working well fir you. Is this a list you bought or built? You could give away the first chapter with name and email required and build your list that way.

I built the list from my site. The opt in is news and stuff on the book. The thing is, they don't buy anything, they just want the news. For instance, I sent them to amazon to buy a related book that was just being released, and out of 2000, 4 of them were bought. That's .2%

I had mild success with CPA, but I think they were low quality leads so they started scrubbing my referrals.

It's unreleased. And probably won't be released for a year.

then ad revenue is probably your only hope. Offer add spots to other businesses too, not just adsense. If your getting plenty of traffic people will pay you for ad slots. Website is really hard to monetize without some decent promotion of the site

try amazon, you can sell anything or related clickbank products, but my first thought was Adsense.

Try to fit the adsense to the site better to improve ctr. what I mean is location, color, etc. make it blend it with the site.

Yap try to sell related books via amazon. I'm pretty sure that there are other fantasy books which will your readers enjoy.

Yeah that is a good idea. Plus that is genuinely providing value. I was hoping to try a CPA offer on my site, but I don't really know how.

Why not create a paid subscription on your news...offer them 3,6 or 12 months subscription of your news, they cannot read your updated news if they are not a paid member

Well my news isn't really unique to my site. I essentially gather news about the book from multiple sources and put it all in one place. I like the idea though, I will have to think about how I can make that work for me. Thanks evoltsion.

You could try Amazon since they got a wide range of products. I'm sure that they got one. If this is unreleased then just offer some reservation of the book.
