I am sure others must have a similar concern .. I have a vbulletin forum I set up a short while ago and have recently added an affiliate link. The problem is how do you check the clicks on the affiliate link from your forum? I do get stats with the affiliate but I just want to check to see that I am being rewarded fairly for the clicks provided. I have looked at vbulletin stats, but cannot see any options to measure these outbound links clicked on I have found websites offering a service where you add their code to the affiliate link on your website, in effect they get a "free link" from your website, the click goes via their "click counter" and then onto the affiliate website. There has to be an easy way to measure tihs, maybe a forum pluggin / hack? Any thoughts?
Setup an account at Yahoo Blog Log - this is part of the Yahoo Network. From there you put a tracking script on your site and it tracks inbound and outbound links. And, Blog Log can do a lot more then track inbound and outbound links, its can show you the searches that people used to find your site, what search engine they used and you can even submit an RSS to display recent post on your profile. As an example, here is my Yahoo Blog Log page - http://www.mybloglog.com/buzz/members/survivalist/ Click one of my sites on the left column, then click "Stats" at the top of the page. With the free version of Blog Log you can see the top 10 stats of inbound and outbound traffic and how many visitors you have had today. Its also a social networking site. You can connect with other people, have a friends list,,,, there is just a lot to it.
