You can try article marketing. Submit articles to article sites like ezinearticles with a link to your site on the resource box.

Write articles on exactly the same sort of stuff you have as article content on your website, make sure to change it up a little bit rewrite it somewhat for uniqueness.
Adding an incentive for people to opt-in to your email list generally speaking works and is a very common method used by a lot of marketers for growing their lists.

How fast do you want to build your list, the fastest way to market and build your list is paid advertising, such as PPC.
Then there is joint venture and then you have the free method which is a lot slower,
Such as Youtube video marketing, article marketing, social media (twitter, facebook etc)

Offering free stock tips or stock quotes would surely lure more subscribers to you.

Use article marketing and advertise a free product.

My approach is to create a squeeze page and offer a special report or other unresistable offer. Or you can create a sign up system for the site. That is generally a way for bigger companies to generate a list though.

    Hello,

What I would do is have a pop up that you can make in Aweber and give away a free report or product related to your niche. They only get this free report/product by joining your mailing list. I use this and it works great. Test it out for a few days and I guarantee you see an instant jump in signups to your list.

    Regards,
    Chris

I have a pop up that jumps up after 30 seconds, what is the best way to script a pop-up add then?

I've noticed that your opt it area doesn't really stand out from the rest of the blog.

You need a clear call to action.

    Some tips:

In aweber, there are lots of opt it templates to choose from, use one that is eye catching and has an arrow to point to the sign up form.

Use an attention grabbing headline that sounds intruiging too. E.g. "5 little known stock picking methods that pulled in $3400 in two days - discovered by a high school drop out"........................ You get the picture.

Offer a free report or video to incentivize people to sign up based on your headline.

Also, once you've created your free report, you can contact other website owners in your niche and offer this report to their list. In your report you will have your opt in url that you promote for people to get more great info from you etc.

    Hope it helps!

    :D

article writing and submission is for getting tarffic.. what you need is to get more subscribers right?

if you already have an aweber account, you can make a lightbox popup with your optin form right there.

just make a new form or copy the one you've got and change the 'type' to light box popup. then
get the code for that form and stick it on your website. if it's a blog and it looks like it is, add it between
the <head> </head> tags in the header file of your template.

    best of luck!

sorry.. i just saw that you do have the aweber light box popup! but I think it comes in too late.

I've got mine set at 3-5 seconds on my blogs.. before they have time to start reading anything.
the first thing they see is my a flash of my website and then the pop up appears.
