Hi, I've got a site, www.motherloadkb.com and would like to see a little more traffic on it... Motherload is a game from XgenStudios as an online flash game, not huge, but big enough to warrant a dedicated website. The only traffic I'm having so far is from the Xgen Forums by advertising it on there under the Motherload section. Has anyone got any good ideas on how to market it either for free, or on a shoestring budget? Thanks, Will
Hey - I've got a few suggestions for you... 1. Comment regularly on video game/tech/computer blogs. Not only is this a great way to get targeted traffic for free, but it's also a great way to get some links pointing back to your site, which will help with ranking. Regular commenting on related blogs is one of the most crucial ways to get FREE targeted traffic and start building a community. Don't be one of those "nice post" comment people.. leave useful comments and let them know that you've actually read what they wrote. get involved, swap emails, create a chat group on skype for other people who enjoy the game... get networking dammit!!! 2. Create a squidoo lens providing some brief information about the game (different from your blog) and link to your blog a handful of times. Search engines love squidoo and will rank your site higher if they see one way links coming from a related squidoo page. 3. Write two are three articles, with one or two versions each and submit them to popular article directories. be sure to put your blog address in the resource box for free link back to your site. 4. Link to other video game sites in your content, via trackbacks, and in your side bar links section. When people check their stats they see new links and usually click through to show some love back. Mention other blogs in your content - they will mention you back! If you focus on the three items I've listed above I can guarantee you will get between 1000-2000 uniques in your first month... providing you update your content regularly.
Since its a dedicated website for Motherload , you need to market any of the related keywords and make it to the front page for enough traffic .TheAtHomeCouple already wrote few tactics for keyword promotion and you can use them with your selected keyword.
Some good ideas, thanks. I've done a Squidoo Lens for it, and it seems to have brought some extra traffic in already! Has anyone got any other ideas, and where would be a good place to submit my articles to? Thanks!
