do some research on University of Phoenix .. banner advertising.. keyword advertizing.. advertise where high school kids hang out.. flyers in your local unemployment office??
Have a scroll bar in your banner ad. This makes people want to scroll and pick their state, but instead they will click your ad and visit your website. Hope this helps.
You should probably figure out your target audience. Who do you want to sell to: new students who can't afford first degrees? People who weren't able to complete a degree program at a "traditional" university because of time/money? People who want to go back to school after a long break? Once you figure that out, that will give you some ideas on how to market the page. You might also try some article marketing and classified advertising.
I agree with snarke, you need to understand your target market first before you can decide how to market to them. I would suggest though that you use a variety of marketing mediums - email, online, print and social media. Try to get to your target market from every angle - but do try to find out what media they use most as that will help you optimize your marketing spend. Michaela
Sort of off topic, but has to be the most over saturated market ever, I skip right over all those b.s. degree ads but I guess some idiots click them. With that said, social networking on MySpace is likely the best, anyone that is still on that site is an idiot and is likely dumb enough to go for an online degree.
