After long time stay with Joomla templates, I have just change my design and coding skill to WordPress. A theme store have been setup and have one theme in it. But now I don't know how to advertise my theme to others. Hope professional marketer here can have me. I have only 50$ budget for advertising but don't know where to spend it.

For each of your opinions about my theme or my site, I'm glad to give you a gift is my premium theme NT Beiu
    My theme store is here:

Comment on related blogs, give away review copies of your themes to bloggers, join E-Junkie to have an affiliate program for your themes, look for big blog competitions where the blogger who has the competition can give away your theme as a prize etc.

    Just my 2 cents.

WP is awash with themes, both free and paid. It's not impossible to market it, but as well as finding potential buyers you'll need to focus on your sales letter and USP. It's important that you should be able to justify to your clients why your themes are better than the countless ones they can pick up for free.

sponsor competitions on medium / big blogs (i'm having one right now if ur interested).

also look at creating many demos showing what can be done with your theme, pay a good amount (50%+) to affiliates and use a creative marketing stratgy (like free ebook for example).

To be totally honest there are so many free themes out there ,check here for example - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/search.php?searchid=13355547 , that you are better off to give the theme away for free but charge company for the backlinks in the footer..

Have a look at all the free ones in the freebie section.

The idea is that if you develop a retail related theme that you offer retail related links , gambling style theme , then get gambling style links.

Theory is that the theme will be used on blogs that are related to the style and so backlinks are more valuable to the purchaser.

Only thing you need to do is build in some form of php encryption so that the theme doesnt work if the footer info is removed.. Have a look at the free ones that are there.. ( i.e. Download them and check out the source..)

And to be brutally honest , you can get much better themes than the one you are selling for free with backinks in the footer.. You could give one for free with links in footer and an option to purchase without links?

There are some really high quality free ones available .. Unless its a real amazing theme , no one will pay.

Just my 2 cents , best of luck!

Take the time to make at least 9 more themes. Contact mid/big level bloggers and offer to give away one or two themes in their up coming contests. I would recommend tylercruz.com or johncow.com they contests always have a lot of people trying to win.

Also have a services for custom built themes. Find a blogger that need a custom theme (Build it from his/her ideas) with over 1k readers. Give it to him/her free or half off. Have a custom logo for your website at the bottom. The blogger will most likely make a blog post about it.

    I hope this helped you

Dpsubi is right, it can earn you $120-$150/theme. Of course it's just short term profit, so after you've sold sponsored links on your theme you won't be able to sell it multiple times for $40-$50 as a premium theme.
