hey guys, my new project is currently in prelaunch, and I am trying to build my member base before I fully launch. InterviewsWith.com will be the place where all the biggest names in the internet and business world are asked some hard hitting questions so that readers can find out who they are, what makes them tick, and why they are successful. I am in the process of lining up so really big names (dont want to give them away until they commit -otherwise it could be a little embarrasing). The only ideas I have had is: Forum Signature Press Releases Blog Posts What other ways can I market my new project?
The key to marketing lies in the fundamental question any potential client/visitor/whatever will ask: What's in it for me? However interesting your proposed Interview site is going to be, you first need to decide who the audience is most likely to be. You then have to think through the best ways to reach them (i.e. by organic or PPC placement -- which is, of course, a whole exerecise in itself). And, most of all perhaps, you need to focus on a site description that tells the search engines what your site's content happens to be (which isn't likely to work if it's as specific as An Interview with Matt Cutts of Google but no doubt needs to be something much more general such as Search engines and optimization -- advice from the experts -- which will involve you in another exercise, that of guessing/learning the keyword phrases your audience is going to use if [and, frankly, when] they choose to search for some answers). Or, if I can put it an entirely different way, your success is going to very much depend upon whether anyone other than posters to such forums as this one is going to use Google et al to find the information you're planning to collect. And this, I'm tempted to say, may prove to be a real disappointment to you. Duncan
hi duncan i understand your points. but i am looking to promote by a multiude of methods, not necessarily just search engines.
Hi guys, The first interview has been added to my website. Patrick the Founder of the iFroggy Network was kind enough to take a few minutes of out his day to answer a few question, and I am extremely happy with the result. I was having a few problems with the signup form, but that is all fixed now! I have two more interviews lined up: - Yaro Starak - Entrepreneurs-Journey.com making $5000month blogging! - Dan Grossman - Awio.com - Awio Web Services These will both be great interviews so you won't want to miss them! the link is in my signature if you are interested.
that is something i will definately be looking into once i get my full website created, (it is still in prelaunch) there will still be a constant stream of new interviews but the website is a little while away still.
I have to agree with duncan pollock: it is really hard to get organic traffic from search engines. I looked at your site, it is nice and interesting, but this matters when one is already at it. I can not think of any search phrase that could lead to your page But it is not a reason to give up You need to pay attention to other ways of getting traffic. Publish your articles, make interviews with famous bloggers and hope they will blog about it. I am sure that visiting your site once a person will return for fresh interviews. So you need to attract people. Advertisement, articles, press releases, social bookmarks etc. Make people know about your site. Good luck
i will start working on social book marking... and i am also trying to implement a tell a friend script (are they still good? or getting a bit out of date?) I know promotion is going to be key, as I understand SEO isnt going to do to much for me. thanks for the kind words!
I just added a social bookmarking box to make it easy for them to bookmark to their favourite site. is this best? our would it be better to just concentrate on just one like digg and have a bigger button?
