I have a great e-commerce site (WordPress, digital downloads) that has made some effortless sales, and now I want to extend it further. I have the proper plugins to run an affiliate program. How should I get started?
Your best bet is to actually do forum advertising. Find sites you wish to advertise your services on and then go from there!
I've had a bit of success on Reddit, so I believe you that forum ads could work. I have a minimal budget to invest in advertising though, and after seeing how far $5 of Facebook ads can take me, I am careful about where to put my money. Most of my marketing efforts will be based on grunt work rather than cash, but I'm not opposed to the idea of advertising on forums. I've actually joined a few forums like this one to scope out what the options are. Thanks for the tip -- the idea is definitely on the radar. Any other ideas?
Another idea that came to my mind is you pay some people to say wear a signature of yours. This signature has your site being advertised on it. You give them x amount of money for x amount of days. That means more people will see your content and it'll be spread further out!
Thanks. I actually have an affiliate plugin installed, so I will be looking for affiliates and a signature might be a good way to advertise if the member is especially active. I don't think I'd pay based on number of days though. Just conversions.
Seek out joint ventures, go to places like clickbank or jvzoo. Contact product owners in the same niche, they are all building lists (you should be too) and see if they want to promote your product to their lists. al
