For those of you who want to create their e-book and market it its fairly simple. Pick your niche. 1) Usually overture and wordtracker are usually the best ones for finding your niche. People are searching for words everyday, so dont be afraid. 2) Write about your niche - this could be a short report or a basic method that you have found or simply it could be tips on something that you want to share and have found 'secrets'. Open up your text editor - usually Microsoft Word OR the one I use for e-books (OPENOFFICE) (openoffice.org). If you are not good at writing your e-book hire a cheap ghostwriter. 3) Once you have wrote your e-book (its usually called your product) its time to convert it into a PDF file so people can download it. Openoffice has a nice feature built inside its interface, so with a click of a button your file will be converted into an e-book. 4) Once you have created your e-book and checked it, and is a PDF file its time to create a sales page for your e-book. You might want to ask someone to write it for you for fairly cheap, usually the services section on this forum is a good resource. 5) Once you have your 'product' ready to launch you might want to offer it at a special price to DP members on the Buy Trade section. This will help people give testiomonials and build more interest. The more interest the more chances you will have of being successful. Remember this is your product, and only you can decide whats in your e-book and how others will view it. 6) If you want to build your MAILING LIST - you might want to offer the first chapter of your e-book for FREE so people can read it, grasp it and it will 'wet their appetite'. This will make them 'opt-in' and suscribe to your mailing list. Many of you might be wondering how to set up an automated payment via paypal so people can get an instant download once they purchase. This is really easy. 1.Log into your PayPal account and then copy and paste the following into your URL address line: www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_web-tools 2.Fill in the “Item Name/Service:†field 3.If you have an item number assigned to your report then type in your “Item ID/Number†in the appropriate field 4.Enter the price of your service in that field 5.Select the currency you want to use 6.Select thePayPal button you want to show up on your page in the payment section 7.Click “Yes†to encrypt 8.At the bottom of the page click on the “Add More Options†button 9.In the “Successful Payment†field type: http://[your web address here]/thankyoufile.html (this is your “thank you for ordering file that also gives the link where they can download the files) 10.Select the appropriate “yes/no†radio button asking if you would like your buyers to be able to purchase more than one of your service or product 11.Select “No Shipping Needed†as response to do you want purchasers to provide you with a shipping address 12.Select the appropriate “yes/no†radio button asking if you would like to give your purchasers an opportunity to include a note with their payment 13.Select the email address you would like to receive payments through 14.Click the “Preview†button or click the “Create Button Now†15.Copy and paste the resulting text into your webpage in the appropriate <div> box or table cell. 16.Modify the file named thankyoufile.html by placing the correct name for your .pdf file in the appropriate <a href> link. 17.Create a directory named /dl on your server and place the .pdf file inside that directory. Make sure your thankyoufile.html file contains the complete link that will allow them to download the file plus the bonus file (you’ll need to include that file name and full link as well. You dont have to put it on a permanent directory. You will have it in your sales page where the person will have an option to buy it.
He meant that the URL for the download page will be unencrypted and the file will be available to download for anyone that gets their grubby little hands on the link.
You keep changing it. What is the better solution (Because that guide is pretty good except for that part)
