I had a budget of £100,000 to spend on marketing to promote an auction site, what should I do to achieve the highest ROI (Return on Investment)?
What marketing channels will you recommend and why?
Looking for quality replies soon. Thanks!

Use PPC such as AdWords, Yahoo, and Bing.
If you know a lot about auctioning, then you can submit articles to article directories.

Pay-per-impression banner ads for brand awareness.

Why is your auction site any better than eBay? You have to figure that out, and once you figure that out, then you can start marketing it.

You can use ppc, have reviews from big bloggers in the same niche.

I would recommend that you use squidoo marketing. It's free, so you could put your capital elsewhere or you could use it to promote your lens.

Here is how I would approach marketing your auctioning website...

    1. Create a squidoo lens that focuses on the specific product that your website promotes.
    2. Put some useful information on your lens, like videos about your products or your honest review of the product.
    3. Then put your website as a source for the product that your lens talks about.

    Here is an example....
You sell coffee cups. You create a squidoo lens about the types of coffee in the world. Then you provide a link to your auction site which sells coffee cups. (Be sure that when you add a link that you direct it to the ACTUAL product page, it is annoying when you have to search throughout the entire website for one product)

Once you have a lens you can use the money that you saved to purchase articles to promote your lens, or you could even use it for PPC advertising.

    Hope I Helped,
