How to market a Social Networking type of site?

    My friends and I just finished a site that focuses on life experience. Users can network, share life experiences, build a personal webpage, chat in real time, blog, upload pictures, and utilize widgets. We have a growing experience list with over 700,000 different experiences that users can browse, add to, blog about, and upload pics and videos to. You also earn points for every experience you've done. Our target market is 21-35. We just opened up our site a couple days ago and plan on sending out a PR next week along with purchasing some ads with adbrite. Can anyone suggest any other FREE or cost effective ways they might market a site like that. Any help would be well appreciated you can look at the site at prapta.com .

    uhh buy myspace bulletins and find sites related to yours and advertise..its just like advertising any site

    It looks like most of the content on the site shows up after the page loads (ajax type stuff). You might want to consider using your server language to get the initial content for the page, that way search engines will index the site easier. Do you have any xml feeds for the site?

    try to steal traffic off myspace. Just get a lot of freinds and comment on their site.
