Hi DPs, I recently just launched a new site: captionthispic.com and I have $200 that I'm willing to spend to market it. I've used my blogs to promote the site too but I'm hoping to accelerate it even further! So, what's the best thing I can do to market this new site with $200? Any comments will be deeply appreciated!
Post in blogs , spend on adwords , grab advertisers to post in blog and ask them to post the links where they advertised ur site in blog, and set a payment for them. You can put your ads also in high traffic websites which also help your site promotion.
Also u can do link building and its the best way to get directed traffic...So better try building links for your site from sites with higher PR
how do I do link building? There's so many blogs out there but I know so little which are high PR and whether advertising on their site do help anot. Anyone can point me to the right direction will be good!
Email some bloggers & ask them to post about it. I launched www.blogstorm.co.uk last week and got 7000 uniques in the first 36 hours without spending anything at all.
People might suggest using google adwords, but if you don't have much experience with adwords you'll find it will very easily swallow up your entire budget and you probably won't get the results you hoped for with only $200 to spend. If you are an expert tough with adwords it could work out brilliantly for you, but just be careful. With $200 i would advertise on sitepoint.com's marketplace, buy some highly targetted text links on sites related to yours, and then i would use the many free ways of getting visitors, such as using digitalpoint's very own marketplace section on this forum. -- Phil
Nice site and original idea, congrats! To promote it: 1. Submit to social bookmarking sites. 2. Submit to directories. 3. Buy text links, paid reviews on high traffic sites (my offer) 4. Participate in forums and put it in your signature. MySpace could help a lot. Buy some bulletins, etc. Good luck!
Most blog owners ask people to send them news tips. Send something cool & gadget related to http://www.engadget.com/tips and they might link to you. They have 600,000 RSS readers so you get a lot of traffic. Most of the the top bloggers don't write stuff for payments. If you create something cool enough then you don't need to pay. I will be paying for advertising in the future, just waiting to see how the free route goes first.
You should never ever get lots of unnatural links to a brand new site. It will harm its long term development. Always start with natural links.
spam myspace and facebook for free, spend 200$ on advertisments( banners) with other sites with your niche
Amen. Oh but but but, I want 39847382487382 links overnight without working! Take that $200 and tuck it in your back pocket for a few. Start working on the site and you'll naturally find things you want to spend money on. If nothing else, think up a task that you want someone else to do and pay them to do it. Take your newfound free time and go do something else.
