How to market a image hosting site?

I have just made a new image hosting site with my friend/partner, and i want to market it, so it can get some unique traffic. Can anyone help me/us?

 

What my friend did when he started an image hosting company was to be like the "official" image host for many forums. This got him a lot of traffic and made his site more popular. Then I believe one of the forums he was sponsoring, the owner made like a little button inside the thread posting that would link (open a small window) to the image host which would make it even easier to host images.

Get a list of some forums and take a shot at that idea.

I would make a thread on some larger forums and ask what people dislike about the top 3 image hosting sites and then play on the strength of my host in that area versus theirs.

 

The best way to promote is a image host is to post image on forum. Then get backlinks and unique traffic.
Use image share forums about celebrity etc..
