There is one cool method I like in past as well. You could have reached out to vlogers on youtube in order to ask them to post links for you and you will in exchange post links to their site ;).
For way to advertise on PPC there is a 7search that does get job done.

    Thanks,
    Johnny

The best way for me is to advertise on other gaming websites. It is both related and somehow effective for me.

If you are looking for forums, then you can go on google and just search for gaming forums and google would suggest you millions of sites. Since you own the website, then you would have to spend some time and market your site.
So i would suggest that you make accounts on many of them and then market your website. But don't post your link too much, or the page owners might ban you from that forum. So look up on how to do SEO. And remember to do white head SEO, not black head SEO. Because black head SEO would ban your whole website from the internet and you might loose everything...

I'm sorry. First of all i would like to change my mistake. It is White Hat SEO. Not White Head.
And i think you can just Google it and you would find many articles about it which would help you understand.
I think I'm that eligible to explain it, as much as those articles would help you.
So i would suggest you read those articles and blogs, they are very helpful.

    uuummm...
You need people that are interested on your niche, it's simple. Fast solutions (and very cheap) can be: facebook groups and Yahoo groups

I use these strategies as a part of my marketing mix ;-)

To really get a gaming site launched you need to have a very good usp, give incentives, top notch site, dedicated admin team, solid offline marketing structure.

But for now try getting in to a gambling forums and get a few high ranking members to give your site a go. They like they will mention it in posts. Gambling is a bit tricky if you have short funds to get the unique visitors through the door.

You should find popular gaming forums and market your website on the forums. Make sure to be specific in the Type of forum you join

Almost every marketing strategy is same , you have to marketize your site on related to gaming or you have promote your site to gamers. for doing so you have to visit maximum number of gaming site. I have a strategy that you can search for below term, it will show all sites related to gaming.

    "Blog : gaming "
    "forum : gaming"
    "directory : gaming"
    etc

this idea is awesome for me. when i search for related to my marketing , i always search for this term "Blog : Keyword " or "forum : keyword"

it helps to reach related site of my marketing.

    :)
