How to market a forum for bloggers?

    I have a new forum called BlogProducer.com and I am stuck in terms of how to market it to others. Please give me some ideas as to how I can drive users to my website and get them to post.

    Set the stage for bloggers to be able to plug their blogs.
    Be willing to lower the bar as far as spam is concerned in the beginning. Not obvious spam of course, but those borderline posts that could go either way should fall on the not-spam side more often.
    Work on making your front page valuable enough that bloggers would make awesome posts in order to have their blog featured on it for a Blog of the Month bit.

    That's just off the top of my head.

    Hire a few paid posters to populate your blog. You can also find other forum owners to do post exchange.
    Join blogging communities like mybloglog and invite people to join your site.

    Forums are hard to market. Why not offer something link new plugins and themes for your visitors to download. Many sites have forums that offer support for there products.

    You should put some hot conversations yourself so as to trigger the bloggers to post and reply .You should also try to get some reviews from blogs.

    since we are on this topic, is there such thing where u can create your own forum using some of those easy set ups forum and to be able to put your own ads on it?

    What is the forum url? Is it fully ready ? The best way is to use some paid bloggers to post in the forum

    If your targeting someone with blogs then the best way to encourage them to post on your forum is by having all the signature as dofollow like here in DP

    Contests always work like a charm! But if you're looking for ways that don't involve bribing people to post/link to your forum, I would say that the best way is to get a few friends to join and then start promoting the forum through signatures and profile links etc.

    Just gave me a great idea for a post, thanks!
