How to market a directory script?

A few days ago, I released a directory script that I put up on hotscripts, made a few announcements on DP and other forums with directory owners. Made competition that I closed down because of lack of interest What's more that I can do(without spending any money)?

 

Is it a free or do users have to pay? If the user's have to pay it'd be tricky promoting it without spending money..

 

It is free for all.

 

umm i would say just submit to websites like hotscripts etc, and im not too sure what else

 

already done that..

 

look for other script sites, Here would be a good place to promote it too.

You may want to try PHP Resource and Scripts.com also.

 

Your best way of promoting this type of script is to approach or post, offering this script to current directory owners, offer to install and modify it for them try and get folks using it. Once you have some up and functioning it will be much easier for other folks to look at it and compare it to other scripts.
