how to market a blog?

what is the best way to get a new blog started with readers? do you have to subscribe to sites like feedster and bloglines for them to index your blog?

Promote a blog exactly the same way you would promote your website.

Make sure your rss feeds are listed at all the major rss directories, this will help also aswell.

Blogs can be extremely effective, and even more so then websites because it just makes content syndication so much easier.
