could i get some advice on how to do so without spamming....and how the easiest way to traffic just to visit the page...no selling or nething just want some traffic
Seems like Myspace or the site in my sig will get you some traffic. Also visit forums in your niche and include a link to the music artist in your sig. Some forums also provide a spot to promote artists. Hope this gets you started.
I run a marketing company for artists and do work for major and indie record labels and have developed many high selling acts. In getting an artist out there you can only do so much internet marketing to get people to the website you are going to get your real traffic from the link being in interviews, reviews, and just word of mouth from live shows, etc. It is very hard to get substantial traffic to a page just using things such as SEO for an artist.
prime elite is correct what is your marketing strategy (thats found in your marketing plan right after your budge) if you don't have any of those...that's your first problem success happens on purpose...especially in this biz we call music make sure at every gig you get the email address of EVERY person who will give it....don't just leave a pad on a table...go out and personally ask for it. then hit them up to sign up to your newsletter. add a fan forum contribute to the building of buzz....get press releases out, get interviewed you have to go hustle....and do everythihng a major label would do....because thats who your competing against
thanx. for all the help...im not trying to "get famous" or ne thing...im trying to get traffic for my new mixtape which is for free download...im basically trying to market my artist page for traffic towards my free mixtape
regardless of the reasons why...still gotta put the time, energy, money and effort to make that happen. If it were easy, cheap, free or fast...everyone would do it
I don't know what kind of mixtape you are talking about but if it is a hip-hop mixtape the best place to upload it at for exposure is www.datpiff.com
go to forums of whatever type of music you do and put a link to your site in your sig. don't spam them but try to take part in the forum by posting. if those forums have an area to post your music do so. submit your site to web directories. exchange links
Create a video and put it on Youtube/Google Video - send any current friends or fans to the video for comments Create a classified ad on ebay - include the word free! Send in your recordings to internet radio stations Create a compilation cd with other local bands with similar music so all of you can pool your marketing resources and fans. Visit lots of music forums and offer a download link in your signiture
Why don't you just try to exchange a few links with related sites, participate in large communities like forums/popular sites/blogs, etc. After a few months you will start ranking well for your keywords and you will get tons of targeted traffic from Google.
