How to manage images

With the blog that I'm starting, there will be lots of images on a daily basis.

For those that have experience with blogs, how do you organize your images? Do you have a separate folder for each year and subfolders for each day within the year folder within which you place your images, or do you use another method?

Wordpress will automatically manage your images. I believe the default structure is ../uploads/"month"/filename.jpg or something like that. I've never bother to change it. Images seem to index quite fine, I get a lot of traffic from google images.

 

If you use a lot of images, then that method is fine. I never turn it on because my blog rarely have images. I find it harder to locate my files that way but your mileage may vary.

 

you can use flickr as an option if you don't like to store in ur host

 

If you use flickr you miss out on google images searches though. You can pull decent traffic from that if you use a lot of images.

 

So...I should upload my images in WP instead of linking them from ImageShack? Good tip. Thanks.

 

I would definitely recommend. Every bit of traffic helps. I recommend tagging them as well.
