You can choose to use a page as your landing page and just design the page however you want. Go to Settings->Reading and there you can set which page is your home page.
Some other things people do is make a custom page template with a custom design or layout on it, you can even remove the sidebars to give it a full page width.

If you are not up for all of that, then you will just have to find or buy a theme that has the look you want. There are many themes that look like static websites and don't show blog posts on the home page.. 100's of them

Do you mean so you don't display latest blog posts on the homepage? You can use a static page for the home page instead.

yes, you absolutely can! you can set the static page in admin panel, and choose which page you want to appear in the front, and choose where you gonna store your post.

use a static page for the home page instead.
although I already know how, but I hesitate to do so.

You can also choose to make new pages instead of posts for new content. If you use posts for your content you can edit your single.php pages and remove the code for tags, filed under, posted by, and all that other stuff.

So do you say that one can put single.php as a home page and that single.php is loaded everytime you click on link (for example Home, About us, Products...) but with it's corresponding post that is actually content of that particular page?

Better for me is to use a professionnal Wordpress template.
Like those business themes from Themeforest for example.
