My suggestion is, Please change the Adsense Title colour to Blue from Red & Black. Since your site uses dark colours in most places, the Adsense with Blue Colour will surely attracts the visitor's attention. I hope this could help you !

you can purchase links, as that is a good start.. make sure they come with some form of traffic also, social bookmark a few pages but dont go overboard, look into optimizing your pages for the niche your looking to win over. Keyword research

Purchasing links will not help in your pr with Google. Google will eventually catch up with it and take away any rank earned by it. It could also get you banned from adsense if any of the people who purchased links paid others for clicking on ads to generate traffic.
I recommend cutting down on the banners you have,they distract the visitors.Move the adsense ads more up and make them look like they are part of the content.
Dont expect you can earn alot from adsense before you make more quality content. Besides, you shall go for SEO and SMO to get traffic. Ads format and placement need to be studied
Adsense is hard to trick, I'm using it as well and I can't say I've made a good amount of profit from it. But I think you need to be smart, and try to gain traffic (without purchasing) through quality content.

Depends what site you are running, for example if you are running a SEO site you should make some good SEO articles on how to get better results with SEO, what is SEO? and post it around webmaster sites, submit it to digg and spread the word.
