How to make sure that a web design for which you paid is not being reused ?

    Hi,

I need to hire a web designer to do some work for some web site of mine. We exchanged some e-mails regarding this and I specifically told him that he will not have the right to re-sell my design to anybody else.

I received his confirmation by e-mail regarding this issue. Is this enough or I must put this in writing ?

    Regards,
    Razvan

PS: Before reading these forums I never thought about it but reading all these stories makes me a bit paranoid.

You can pay a lawyer to put togther a contract. When they breech it you can sue them. But for $100 freelance jobs that's normally over the top and economically not viable so you take the risk. A lot of it is trust based - not much you can do if it happens. Cross border law suits aren't fun.

That means the best thing to do is to check on his previous work and recommendations. I met such a guy on a forum. Some other people from the forum recommended him. This looks like a good start.
