    very common question..getting in top of SE google is not the only thing, you have to maintain it also...for this content quality must be better. SEO can help you make you higher but to maintain, only your content and services are responsible..

    Things you need to remember with regards to SEO:

    1. Quality content - content is king right?
    2. On-Page Optimization - title tags, alt tags, description, keywords, meta tags, h1/h2 tags.
    3. Off-Page Optimization - press release, classified ads, link exchange, online groups, social bookmarking and networking, article submission, etc.

    When you have a good set of keywords, put them into the URL, page titles & content of your web page...
