i might have been correct in wanting the hamas involved in the peace http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7060530.stm
and the process is moving forward. is it really a time for peace? one can only hope and support http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7108637.stm
Palestine does not exist. Today, Palestinians constitute the World's Largest refugee population. They were driven from their homes when Israel was created. Israel has followed a policy of destroying Palestinian institutions and infrastructure, in order to ensure there is never a Palestinian state. In 1980s, Saudi Arabia and the Muslim world decided to extend the hand of peace towards Israel by normalizing relations in exchange of Palestinian state. But what did Irael do? It flew fighter planes over the top of Saudi oil fields, warning US not to listen not the Saudi Offer, if they want the oil fields intact. The world knows about it, what happened? NOTHING... This peace offer was rejected because israelis don't need peace. They have one of the strongest militaries in the world, along with hundreds of nuclear weapons. Their society is based on military and war, as every 18 year old is sent to the military. This is an unfortunate situation. US Presidents are helpless as they are dependent on Jewish money for election campaigns. All sorts of anti-defamation leagues and AIPAC have come up, threatening anyone who dares to question US government's blind support of israel. It will all change soon. Once the truth is out to the people of US, change will come. We have to depend on the worlds biggest military & economic power, that is the only way out. By the way, Palestinian state is now impossible. The only way out now is a One-State solution, where a secular state replaces Israel and Palestine to become the home of all the people living in the region.
the only thing required to have peace is being at war and sick and tired of it. everything else is just an excuse
one state solution is not a native idea and has no support in either israel or palastanians. at this stage a two state solution is on the table and might be achievable. a person truly interested in a peaceful solution must support this process and hope for it to succeed
it seems that summit is a go and even syria is attending it is time to support it and stop the extremists on all side from derailing it.
Hamas seeks truce talks with Israel http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071219/ap_on_re_mi_ea/israel_palestinians i think that there is already a secret agreement and they just need time to work on the public opinion side of the agreement. peace is just around the corner.
