how to make my wordpress site category in easy way

my wordpress site category look like

http://www.pondicherrytimes.com/category/general/

but i need like this

http://www.pondicherrytimes.com/general/

How can i do it...

 

Just use " custom permalink" plugin. That would do the job for you.

Gives you a greater functionality.

 

go to SETTINGS -> PERMALINKS AND ADD CATEGORIES.

Question, Auto Blog Site or Unique Site?

if it is auto blog (I recommend) removing Categories and sticking to TAGS to leverage those from... if it's unique, use Categories.

 

Care to explain unless I am missing something... ???
