my current situation looks like this: mydomain.com nameservers = ns1.billshost.com i want to make my own name server so people dont see i have hosting at billshost.com is it possible? i have WHM access etc
you need to create record in your Domain Registrar to point your Name servers to the ip of the billhost.com, For godaddy you need to create Host and for other the method differs with every registrar. You can also create Name Servers for your Web Hosting Account just ask your Host to create one for you. They are known as child name servers and sometimes regarded as Masked Name Servers
A quick google sear will show you many different ways and tutorials on how to implement this. Best of luck regards, Ryan
Also have you guys hesr about open Google DNS service? I think is is awesome for the beginners to start their own DNS service to test For your solution you just need to transfer your domain to opendns (like for example) for just make A record to their server and you will be able to have your own nameserver.
You'll need to register the domain and create custom nameservers at the registrar. You can watch this video if your domain is registered at Godaddy http://demodemo.com/1/tutorials/dnsns_godaddy.htm
