Hey Everyone, Was wondering if anyone had a solution to this. I currently have a blog and I somehow want to make it look like its updating everyday without actually adding new posts everyday. I want to do this so when google bot hits the site it appears the blog is being updated frequently. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas? Im hosting my own blog with wordpress.
Google bots always fetch contents of sites and they knew whenever there are changes happened compared to the last time they visit. One thing you can do is to have random content posting tool that will show different contents of your site everytime it loads but I don't know how this perform. Still the best thing to do is to actual update it.
First thing I would suggest is to stop looking for shortcuts, if you want to make it in this business, it takes work, time and dedication. You can use an addon to add a list of posts into a queue, for example, you add 14 posts into the queue, and tell the addon to post one post every day, and every day it will take one of the posts, remove it from the queue, and post it. This way you would have your blog updated for 14 days in a row, once each day, with a new post -- with you only having to type the 14 posts on the first day. If you don't want to constantly update your blog, make a static site instead of a blog..... What good is a blog that never updates, just 'appears' to be updating?
As WunschShrek said there's no such thing as a free lunch. And if you want to earn money you have to do some work. I don't update my blog every day but I do what he described as on Monday (or so) I prepare about 5 posts and then schedule them to post every day thus my blog gets updated every weekday.
You need to update and place fresh content if you want to make it in this business, bottom line....that is the way Google is heading in my humble opinion....
Yup, my vote is for actually updating your content - and not in an automated "scraping content" fashion
I agree, but i have one question also, how much posts are ok to post? One per day, one per week? What is best rate?
you could also setup your blog to receive e-mail posts from you - might be a little easier to e-mail a few posts a week versus logging in and creating a new post - just an idea.
A blog is nothing but an online diary. You make a post to share your information/views with the world. There can never be any definite routine to doing it. You try to be regular and it is considered good... but if you can't.. and do post randomly as per your convenience... it is also perfectly human! Regards, RightMan
