I have recently started sending out a monthly news letter to my users and would like to know if anyone knows of a place where I can find people interested in buying ad space in these letters. I have used PPC ads such as adsense on my website but I don't think I can put that in a news letter very effectively. It be best if I can find a place where you say I got 500 users, mostly interested in gaming and electronics, and I send out a monthly news letter, then people can bid on ad space. Is there a website for this?
I dont know of any companies, but why not sell links or advertisement space in the marketplace here on the forums?
As an advertiser myself, I have passed on that avenue awhile back. I have found that there aren't as many active readers a webmaster says there is, so the price they are asking isn't worth it. That's the problem with lists, anyway, most stop reading after the second or third e-mail. Then you have the ones that give a fake or throw-away address, so the user can get into a site. I don't mean to discourage you, but you have to be prepared for a lot of that from advertisers, like me. Anyway, good luck with it.
you should look for ezines directory and check out what kind of advertisement are placed on that directory. if something is in demand you will find it easily.
As a follow up, it seems like advertisers are much more willing to do ppc type of campaigns then impressions so I think I will try some of the affiliate networks instead maybe. I know the html images will show up no problem but javascript ones start to be iffy. I will try commission junctions embed in email function and post back on how it goes.
Check out http://www.ezines-r-us.com I've been working with them for a long time. I have an ezine (delivered by email) and they pretty much fill up my publishing orders without me doing anything. You just publish and get paid. If you have a big list you can make decent money. However, they aim towards the internet marketing/network marketing kind of stuff. So I'm not sure if you could get to work with them... but maybe they can refer you to another company that targets your niche.
