Hi, I ask a simple question : how directory website make money ? I am sure that display google ads don't bring money since people are not going to click on ads. So how to make money ? I am asking not because i want to start a directory project, but something similar to this (people will come post and leave for ever ! ) Any idea to make money ? Thanks for answer suggestion.
You have to think big to make money on a directory. You have to focus on a niche and to become the reference in this niche after years of much work. Then you can start charging for advertising. This is so much work that many people either don't start or give up.
That will also take a lot of efforts, it takes far longer to have a directory achieve a good PR and a lot of marketing efforts involved. Only popular directories get the sponsored links and it takes a long time to get popular
