Dear fellow DP members: a lot of you have expressed the frustration on eBay affiliate application. It is not new to us that eBay auto-reject non-US affiliate. If you face the similar problems, please apply to eBay UK instead. It seems that eBay UK is not as dumb and would happily accept you if you have a decent website, even though you are not from UK. now.. the question here is, how to drive UK traffic to your UK eBay sites/BANS store? Simple - sell something that appeal to UK market via PPC and SEO. There are a few places to find the happenings in UK market, here are three useful sites: http://uk.dir.yahoo.com/buzz/ - Top searches on Yahoo! A BANS site is perfect to sell to these visitors as most people feel secured to shop with eBay(it's an established brand), and who can resist bargain? Obviously I am talking about UK market here. However, you can use the similar methodology in other eBay market (US, Australia, France etc etc). Today I am looking at Google Trends data. There are plenty of searches for Oscar related terms, mostly winners' name (best movie, best actress, best actor etc). If you got your BANS site ready for this event I'd bet you have bank in some niche cash now. So now, think of any coming up events. Olympics, US election, mother's day anyone? hope this short post can get your creative juice flowing . I am not in UK but that doesn't stop me knowing UK trends . Thanks for this information. I'm starting to specialize more on local markets (UK, Germany etc.) so this kind of tips are really useful for me.
hey Finspin: a little tip if you plan to tap into entertainment niche. Let's take singers as example, with BANS store you can sell things like posters, DVD etc etc. I'd propose that you put up some ringtones CPA with headlines like "bonus ringtone/wallpaper for singer X, limited time only!". If you don't mind to work a little harder, put up an opt-in box where visitors get to receive the latest offers/bargainn on your niche if they sign up. The sky's the limit here P/S: I am not sure what is hot in Germany right now as I don't read German. Euro Cup perhaps?
yes...basically..i saw many countries in their list, but i tried many times and they denied my request every time (i'm from romania and i think they don't allow partners from my country)
thanks for the tip OP, I know people have had a harder time with conversions since the new ebay affiliate program started. I've seen a giant drop in my sales.
pofeck: you may wanna try to promote country specific offers, the competition is smaller and demans is still there.
