I would suggest also taking a look at the ClickBank marketplace and also promoting JV Affiliate products. I have had some good success lately with these methods. Kinda gave up on adsense as the returns from the others are far higher and cookied too.
Affiliate marketing can take some more work (compared to Adsense) but the payouts are far more juicy...

Without a doubt thats the better method but if you are looking for quicker dollar rack up (on a smaller scale though) affiliate marketing may fit for now. But you should look to product creation as the poster says.
Dito, you are waisting your time without content. I can place a hundred ads on a site but it doesn't do any good without content.

adsense is great. it is like you standing outside of a store and telling people to go in and look around. and you get paid!! affiliate marketing does pay better but you have to get sales. a problem for some people.
