Hello I have a joke site.I want to it will be listed in first page when people search "joke" on google, How to do? Thank you
you should use AdWords program.this Will be sooooo hard to appear first with this keyword, without paying for it
It's not always the easiest thing to rank for that one "special" keyword you want. Often you'll find that it's a lot easier and more reasonable to rank on related two and three word terms such as "funny jokes", "blonde jokes", "funny joke website", etc.. Your first course of action is to make a list of related search terms for jokes and research them using tools available online to see the amount of traffic each keyphrase brings in a month/day. Then optimize your website and promote along those easier keyphrases for faster results. You'll be surprised how much traffic some of these related terms get and it's so much safer to rank on a bunch of keywords that receive not quite as much traffic, then one high trafficked term that you could lose at any time. Don't discount ranking for that one super term, but keep in mind it will take much longer.
err... how the hell will using adwords increase serps? it will probably increase targeted traffic - but i don't think it'll improve serps. to get good serps, get backlinks - good and relevant ones - that's the only way...
I think he meant use adwords instead anyway I would give up on joke for now. Use this to find other joke terms people are searching for and then use allintitle:you joke keyword(s) in google to find the amount of competition. Note your compeditors (plural) Page rank (you need google toolbar) and their amount of back links with link:www.yourcompetitorssites.com in google. Put your keyword(s) in your title tag, H1,H2 etc... and I think google likes a keyword distibution of around 2-3% (but I may have just made this up?) in the content of your homepage so have lots of content. After noting how many backlinks your main compeditors have, you need to get more, and in particular more of the type with higher PR. Put your keywords in the anchor text - but not the same ones every time. I think thats the basics but forgive me if I got anything wrong I'm sure I'll be corrected.
