    how do i make links that will show products by manufacturer or weight

    and how can i edit the featured products on my main page?

    you will have to modify the code or get a mod for it!

    and second you can edit your featured products through the admin page, if you already tried that and you have a custom template for it then that means that your hired coder sucks! and doesn't know how to properly code it in!
