    Please look for the following types links, those can be effective-
    1. On Focus with your product or service
    2. The website’s home page has higher PR
    3. There are less that 50 links
    4. There are no ‘No Follow’ Tags on the links
    5. There is no javascript redirect on the link
    6. The link is not redirected

    If you make relevant backlinks to your niche then it would be more effective to your site. If the backlinks are from high page ranked sites then it would be more worthy for your site.

    Improve your web site content, or start a blog to target your product features, publish the contents in social media, social bookmarking sites if people likes it people will come to your web site and they will give a link most probably. So first of all start inside your web site.
