1) Write loads of good content targeted to your Niche. The more content pages the better but don't slack on quality. You won't get listed immodestly give it time.
2) Make the best use of Google Webmasters, make an analysis, continuously submit sitemaps of the new content you add.
3) Have a read over here for some extra tips - Increase Website Traffic.
4) Make submissions to directories etc and promote your website on Social Media.
5) Use the Google Keyword tool to find a proper keyword. Maybe you're not using the right ones?
