you have a ton of ways, do a search in the help menu or photoshop, you can just as easily use a quick mask and paint out what you dont want, etc best of luck

1) if its part of a solid color background, use the magic eraser 2) if not, use the pen tool to cut out what you don't want, and paste it onto a new layer, but make sure that you erase the background with the magic eraser 3) before you start a new document, choose the background as transparent
