How to make adsense links apear in a new frame?

    I have a phpbb forum and have added adsense to it. When people click on it, it openens in the same frame.

    I choose the option in adsense for google_page_url = document.location;

    Yet it is not opening in a new frame.

    Do you know what to do?

    Thank you

    No harm, you will just loose your adsense account, nothing much

    How do they check?

    I can imagine it beeing beter for google and for the advertisers. Visitors check some ads, don't have to leave the main page, and can choose more than one ad. Win-Win situation for everyone. I don't understand why google would not want this.

    If I might loose my account then I won't do it.

    Who, me??? :eek:

    Modifying the code is a big no, so just don't do it, it will only get you into trouble.

    So what happens if you have a site that has _blank as standard frame. Does that mean that you cannot use adsense?

    Correct, you could not use adsense IF IT IS OPENING ADS IN A NEW WINDOW!

    (OK, I'm just a wrong audience for a portal like that; annoying to not be in control which tab links open in ;) )

    Regarding your question of how Google would know if someone implemented _blank as the default frame, I imagine the answer is the same as how a web browser would know: the HTML of the page would quite clearly state so, in the form of a <base target="_blank" /> tag. Exceedingly simple for them to program for that, if they should so wish...
