I want to make YouTube instructional videos with voice over and show the activity on my desktop. For example I want to make videos on building a web site, you will here the instructors voice and see the desktop as i show people on my desktop what I'm seeing and doing. Also I need to know how to add the URL of my site to my videos. I have Windows Movie Maker which is super confusing I need something simple and easy to use.
CamStudio is an excellent screen recording application, and it's FREE! http://camstudio.org/ You'll then need a microphone and a sound editor to record the instructor's voice over - try Audacity (also free). http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ WMM is the Notepad of video editors - it's as simple as it gets, especially if all you want to do is add some titles. Just mess around with it for a while, you'll work it out. If WMM confuses you, then something like After Effects or Premiere will make your head spin
Camtasia also has a good series of instructional videos. Watching can help with making your own video or give ideas what a good one looks like
