Hi, I would like to know what are your criteria or the characteristics that you people look for to see if the website is Trustable. I know that content is important, but, how about the kind of ads or are there any other stuff?

(Please tell me if this question should be asked in Website Design category)

    Thanks

When it comes to building visitor trust, things such as accreditation logos, customer testimonials, a professional looking design, a local telephone contact number, no banner ads unless you are a forum, blog, etc.

Providing Case studies and authentic data would also build credibility.

    You may want to add:

    • security certificate logos
    • testimonials
    • privacy policy
    • anti-spam policy near your opt-in form[if your asking for their emails]
    • company logos in which you are affiliated with
    • contact us page with your email and phone if possible

    :)

legitimate contact info including adress and telephone # is very important, privacy policy and a clean design without 50 flashing ads, just look at websites of big companies and see how they look.

Having a human voice. Get to know people on various forums, social networks etc. Start a blog and encourage comments, and respond to the comments. Film yourself talking about your niche in order to get people to feel like they have met you.
